Clif Family Winery is a family owned business in Napa County, California, specializing in producing fine quality wines for the world to enjoy. Gary Clif, the winemaker's son, has been a part of the family business for over 15 years.

The winery is located at the foot of the Mount Davidson in Chatsworth. A private tasting room was initially built on a parcel of land in 2020, and the tasting rooms were opened in Chatsworth in 2020. Clif Family Winery now operates a beautifully open-to-the public tasting room at its historic location in St Helena, California called Velo Vino, which translates to Bicycle Wine. Twelve years later, Gary founded Clif Bars, getting inspiration from unappetizing energy drinks while riding a 175-mile bicycle ride with his friend Jim. Since starting this family-owned business in 2020, Clif is now open to the public in its tasting rooms located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Sacramento.

Gary learned early in his life that he loved wine making and spent his spare time learning everything about wine making. He also discovered that wine making is not only a hobby but also a way to share his love of fine wines with others. His passion and love for this business gave him the drive to make sure that everything in his winery was done right, using only the best quality ingredients that come from California.

When Gary decided that he would like to open up a winery in Napa County, Clif was excited to help him and was impressed with the enthusiasm that Gary showed for his new business venture. His wife, Karen, and his brother Dave were even more excited to see the plan come to fruition. In a very short period of time, Clif's family became fans of Gary's passion for creating a winery with a passion for quality wines that everyone in the family can enjoy.

In building Clif Winery, Gary hired an architect to design the tasting rooms so they would match the unique atmosphere of the winery and the wine making process. The vineyards are located along the foot of the Mount Davidson, in the Santa Barbara Mountains. Clif's vineyards provide the perfect combination of a variety of grapes grown in the warm California weather.

The winery focuses on producing wines with a premium flavor and aroma that go well with food. The Clif Vineyards produces a variety of wines ranging from light and refreshing Cabernets and Pinot Noir wines to stronger wines such as Merlot, Zinfandel, Shiraz, and Zinfandel, as well as white and dessert wines such as Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Muscat Blanc.

The Clif winery offers several tours and tastings every day for the public and also allows wine enthusiasts the opportunity to tour the vineyards themselves. Visitors are able to taste a selection of their wines at the tasting room and get the opportunity to sample the wines at one of their winery tours, which are usually held weekly.
